MANNINGTON laminate or Pergo Elite?

Reader’s Question:

Jaime asks:

We are installing laminate throughout our main floor.  We have narrowed our favorites down to a MANNINGTON laminate ($4.59/sq ft) with a 25 year warranty (available at our local family run flooring store as well as larger retailers) and PERGO Elite laminate ($3.99/sq ft) with a 30 year warranty and it has the underpad already on it (a savings of $0.75/sq ft we would have to purchase for the MANNINGTON floor).

I can’t find info on the PERGO website about the Elite line carried by Home Depot.  Would you recommend one over the other?  Is the price difference due to the high volume Home Depot can buy, or does it speak to the quality of the PERGO floor?  Home Depot says PERGO is the best flooring available, and our local flooring store says the same about the MANNINGTON line.  Any wisdom?

Trafficmaster Vinyl Flooring Review

“Redid kitchen, dining and hall floors with Trafficmaster Allure. After much research decided that Trafficmaster Allure flooring was the best product on the market for the cost.  Wanted a vinyl and in a plank form that was easy to lay and not have to worry about moisture/water.  With 4 dogs had to also consider the sound factor.  Did not want to put down wood or a wood look product but couldn’t find a tile/stone in Trafficmaster that I liked.

Ended up going with this as the store only carries about 3 different options in the plank/wood look, the others you have to order which I think is a real downfall to their sales.  Anyway, all I can say is that this stuff looks absolutely terrific.  I’ve been ranting and raving about it to everyone. It was easy to lay, Read the rest of this entry »

Trafficmaster Allure Review

“This product is great! A monkey could install this with ease! So simple, but Trafficmaster Allure looks great! My husband asked me to wait to install until he came home from work to help, but we later decided that anybody could put this Trafficmaster Allure floor down easily!

I would recommend this product to anybody looking for a floor that is durable, waterproof, and beautiful. I will be remodeling the kitchen soon, and plan to install this Trafficmaster Allure flooring in the kitchen as well.”

I purchased mine onle through one of the links above and had it shipped directly to my house for less than I could have bought it for in the store.  Plus, I didn’t have to get a truck to bring it home!
